  Moving stories of family caring

The Ramadan month of fasting and Muslim introspection has framed several stories of interfaith compassion and friendship. Our first report is of a Palestinian Christian who looks after a blind Muslim friend including taking him to the mosque for daily prayers.

Then there is the story of a young Egyptian-American Muslim woman who arranges with a Jewish community center to host an iftar-fast breaking Ramadan meal.

Our readers know we can’t resist reports of Pope Francis upsetting conservatives of all religions. This time it’s a Muslim, a Hindu and a Buddhist.

Then our close, valued friend Father John Pawlikowski shares deeply felt memories of his time with Elie Wiesel.
And we end with a report of a West Bank Palestinian doctor coming to the aid of Jewish settlers who had been attacked by alleged Palestinian terrorists.
