Islamophobia: An American Pathology

We begin with one example of the problem by Washington Post columnist Petula Dvorak.

But the centerpiece of this edition is The Atlantic’s Peter Beinart who documents a history of racial and religious oppression in times of social stress that precedes the current surge in Islamophobia. This report is powerful and persuasive and we recommend it as a keeper.

We end on a positive note to promote a book by our Abrahamic colleague Debbie Weissman, an American born Israeli, Orthodox feminist and former president of the International Council of Christians and Jews where we met her. Her first task as president was to take an Israeli Muslim man and a Palestinian Christian woman from East Jerusalem on a mission to Australia. Debbie’s book is a delightful virtual visit with a warm, quickly to become good friend.
