September 20, 2017 – Marking the Jewish New Year with a Special Remembrance

Marking the Jewish New Year with a Special Remembrance

There are many postings in advance of  Rosh Hashanah, but the most moving and important from our perspective is Rabbi Ron Kronish’s citation of Prime Minister Rabin’s remarks at the signing in 1993 of the Declaration of  Principles of the Oslo Peace Process on the White House lawn. We also mourn his assassination which was a devastating blow to Rabin’s, Israel’s and Palestine’s hope for peace.
And a note for our readers in the greater New York City region, our founding artist, Tom Block, whose portrait of the Abrahamic Family graces every edition of this report, also founded the International Human Rights Arts Festival. The next event is coming up soon, with many more to follow.
